Which start wave will you be in?

Semi-marathon on May 22, 2016

Grâce à un départ par vagues successives, chacun peut courir à son rythme, en toute sérénité.

Because the race starts in successive waves, everyone can run at their own pace, at complete ease.

To ensure a fluid race for all, the Course Eiffage du Viaduc de Millau runners depart in successive waves.

The waves

Sur le Viaduc
Access to the elite group (red)wave 1 (green) and wave 2 (blue) is strictly limited.
These waves are reserved:
  • for runners registered in groups,
  • for athletes with a race target and proof of a satisfactory reference time (supplied at the time of registration).
The entrance to the start areas for these waves is through the side doors (see map).
There is open access to wave 3 (purple) and wave 4 (yellow). Depending on their time of arrival, runners will be placed in one of the two waves.
The runners enter from the back of the start area (see map) and when the desired number of runners has been reached, wave 3 (purple) is closed to create wave 4 (yellow).
Runners who wish to meet up with friends, family and other groups are also free to do so.
In any case, if a runner with access to an advanced start point would rather stay with somebody else, this would not present a problem since access to the advanced start points is an option not an obligation.
As for the atmosphere, we can already predict that it will be friendly in all the start areas!

The start wave you are in makes no difference to your running time.
It is the actual running time that is taken into account from the moment you cross the start line, where a mat detects your electronic chip.
